What is critical illness cover?

Critical illness cover can support you and your family financially, by paying out a lump sum if you ever became unwell with a range of serious conditions such as cancer, heart attack or stroke or any of our other 18 listed conditions.

It can be added to your life insurance policy at the time of purchase, for additional protection if you were ever to fall critically ill. Unfortunately, the bills don’t stop if you were ever to fall critically ill. As it is not always possible to continue working whilst recovering from a critical illness such as cancer, the lump sum can help remove some of the financial stress and give you and your loved one’s financial peace of mind whilst you focus on your recovery.

What conditions are covered?

Our critical illness cover pays out if you are diagnosed with the most common serious illnesses such as cancer, heart attacks, and strokes. It also covers injuries like the permanent loss or paralysis of limbs, permanent deafness or blindness and third-degree burns affecting more than 20% of the body or face.
