How much would I receive from critical illness cover?

The lump sum that you would receive, depends on the amount of cover you decide when you take out the policy. The payout can range from £5,000 to £300,000 depending on your age, but it’s up to you to decide how much that might be.

Critical illness cover works like an add-on to your core life insurance policy. You can’t buy critical illness as a separate product but claiming on it doesn’t affect the payout on your life insurance.

If you take out a decreasing term life insurance policy direct through Beagle Street and decide to add on critical illness cover, this cover will not decrease monthly in line with your decreasing life insurance policy, so your payout will be the sum assured you chose when you first took out your policy.

Child critical illness

You can also take out child critical illness cover on top of your own critical illness policy. This protects all your children, including those you may have later in life.

If your child becomes critically ill, child critical illness pays either 25% of your critical illness policy or £25,000, whichever is lower.
