Support for your claim

We understand that making a claim can be hard, which is why we’ve teamed up with Red Arc to provide you with Our Companions Service. Our Companions Service will give you access to a dedicated personal nurse to provide long-term practical advice and emotional support during your claim. You will be assigned a dedicated nurse, ready to provide unlimited time on the phone and offering support tailored to your needs and circumstances. They can help out in a range of circumstances including, but not limited to:
  1. Assistance supporting other family members
  2. Trauma or bereavement counselling
  3. Help to find a second medical opinion

We want to help as much as we can with the financial costs that occur following bereavement. If you make a valid life insurance claim, we’ve pledged to pay up to £5,000 of your total claim value towards the cost of a funeral before the remaining pay-out is paid. Our Funeral Pledge could provide financial help if there are delays due to probate, which can happen if there is no will or trust in place when a claim is made.

Having a policy with us ensures you have access to dedicated claims handlers, who are happy to help guide you through your individual claim. Whether they’re keeping you informed on your claim’s progress, or helping put you in touch with our Companions Service, our Samaritans-trained team are in place and happy to help you in any way they can. We’ll be your point of contact throughout your claim and will keep you updated on progress so you aren’t unsure.

Whether you need to get in contact with us regarding a critical illness diagnosis, or you're a family member informing us of a death, we're here to help.

Life insurance

Should the worst happen, Beagle Street is here to help guide your loved ones through making a claim. If a policy holder does pass away during the policy term, where the payment goes depends on the arrangements that have been made prior to a claim. It is worth understanding whether the policyholder has written a Will or if their policy with Beagle Street was placed in trust.

Terminal illness

We include terminal illness cover as standard in your life insurance. If you’re diagnosed with less than 12 months to live, you can claim for an early pay-out from your life insurance policy*. We want to support all of our customers as best as we can and are happy to answer any questions you might have.

Critical illness

With our critical illness cover in place, if you’re diagnosed with any of our covered critical illnesses you can make a claim. The payment would be made as a lump sum to the policy holder upon validation.

Child critical illness

Child critical illness claims work in the same way as critical illness. If your child, or any future children you may have, is diagnosed with a condition, as the main policyholder you can make a claim.

How do I make a claim?

Our claims process is straightforward and backed by an expert team who will look to pay out the money as quickly as possible, once validated.
  1. Call us on 0800 072 9831
  2. We’ll send you a claim form to complete and send back to us. If you have been diagnosed with a condition you can also send your clinic letters through to us here (any original documents or certificates that you do send to us will be returned to you by recorded delivery)
  3. We’ll do the work and review your claim. You’ll receive a response from us and we will keep you updated
  4. Once your claim has been validated this will be paid in 2-3 working days of approval, once all checks have been completed**
  • We make every effort to handle all claims as quickly as we can. Each claim is dealt with on an individual basis and we may require further information from your GP and Consultants to help us assess your claim. This can take time to obtain, but we will keep in contact with you to keep you updated. If we receive a death claim, our insurer may require medical evidence or probate but don’t worry our team are here to keep you informed on the position of a claim.
  • If you’re unsure, you can check the conditions you are covered for in your terms & conditions document. These are located within your account, or if you prefer you can give our team a call. If the condition you have been diagnosed with is not listed and you’re still unsure simply check with the GP or Consultant who has made the diagnosis and they will be able to clarify this for you.
  • If our claims team are waiting for medical reports, you can contact your GP or Consultant to check whether they’ve received them. If you’ve opted into our Keep Informed process, we’ll also update you every 4 weeks regarding the position of your claim meaning you don’t need to worry about progress. If we are waiting for medical reports for a death claim, you can contact the GP you’ve told us about on the claim form. We will also contact you every 4 weeks if you’ve opted into our Keep Informed process.
  • Once your claim has been paid, we’ll confirm this is on its way to you in writing. Depending on the policy you have, we’ll explain any remaining cover details to summarise what you’ve got in place with Beagle Street. Or if your policy has ended as a result of a claim we’ll go through this with you so there’s no uncertainty.
*In the final 12 months of your policy, making a claim for a terminal illness will not be covered. **At Beagle Street, we’re backed by the security of Scottish Friendly Assurance Society. This means that every successful claim made with us is paid within 2-3 working days, as a tax-free lump sum.
