Life insurance day

Tomorrow, 18th June, marks the anniversary of the first life insurance policy in the UK, taken out on the life of William Gybbon in London in 1583.

Over 400 years on, less than one in two households in the UK have life insurance with research revealing that financial planning is the number one thing that British people put off doing ahead of exercising, dieting and various household chores.
Life insurance day
While there are lots of things that people will put off on a daily basis from cleaning to DIY, protecting your loved ones is not something you should delay – particularly when you consider that the average British parent could survive less than three years without their spouse’s income.
In a bid to encourage people up and down the country to take control of their financial futures, we have teamed up with consumer champion Jasmine Birtles to call for today to be ‘Life Insurance Day’. A day where you can get your life insurance sorted, meaning you can get on and enjoy your life knowing your family will be financially secure if the worst happens. And with Beagle Street it takes less than ten minutes to protect your loved ones – so there is no excuse to put it off!
